An Exciting Announcement and My Little Baby Model

An Exciting Announcement and My Little Baby Model

After being on maternity leave for over a month, I'm ready to get back into the swing of working! What's more is I've decided to stop nannying and be a postpartum doula full time!

This is so exciting for me since I've felt a need to move on in my nanny career. I'm absolutely still feeling some anxiety behind it because it will be quite a shift. As a nanny, you become part of the family and can be with the same one for years but as a doula, your aim is to work yourself out of the job and so you're supporting a mother for six weeks tops. I've helped many moms within the realm of being a doula but I always had those stable families that I continued to nanny.  It will be quite the change to scheduling to be with so many families throughout the year but I am so ready to do it. I'm even more exciting thinking about the different connection I can now make with moms after having a child of my own.

Speaking of my own child, I of course had to use him as a baby model for my new business cards! What do you think?

I'm really excited about this new venture and if you or anyone you know is considering a postpartum doula, feel free to contact me on the new postpartum doula services page! I'm really looking forward to being able to focus on being a doula full-time, even though it will be hard to leave Silas! Luckily the Hubs will be with him during the day and knowing that they'll be able to have that time to bond and be together makes it worth it.

How did it feel for you to go back to work? Was it hard the first day?
